Indie Spotlight review from Goldmine Magazine
“Nick Carter is a supremely sensitive individual. That’s all so evident with his new album Fountain Pen. A tender and touching set of songs of mostly mellow persuasion, Carter lays out his feeling with unblemished emotion, aided and abetted by a group of like-minded singers and musicians — Ante Duvekot, Ellis Paul, Laurie McAllister, Abbie Gardner, and producer Seth Glier among them. Carter, a former marketing specialist and music teacher, initiated his own creative efforts later in life, but his skill and savvy show that he clearly has the insight and know-how to succeed with his own artistic endeavors and establish his own identity in the process. There’s not a single song here that fails to reach that high bar, with several — My Guitar Is My Compass, Comfort In Your Cup, Arizona Sunsets, and The Bridge — coming across like instant standards. A highly evocative effort, this Fountain Pen is not only a reliable tool, but a resource as well.”
